There are plenty of family-friendly activities and things to do in Cayman that will keep everyone entertained. Here are our recommendations.

  • Boat Trips are an awesome family day out! Tour operators offer several trips out to Stingray City where you can feed the stingrays, snorkel the Sandbar or Coral Gardens and possibly visit Rum Point or Kaibo for a Cayman-style fish lunch. See the Boat Trips page for more information.
  • The Cayman Parrot Sanctuary offers a friendly, interactive and educational experience. Meet native animals, including Cayman Parrots, agoutis and the ‘rasta caterpillar’. At the Sanctuary you'll also find goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, cockatiels, snakes and lots of other reptiles. There are also two playgrounds, a zip line and plenty of shaded areas.
  • Explore the Island with an experienced local guide. Book a tour with a company like Cayman Safari Adventures
  • Visit a Cultural Site like Pedro St. James or the Botanical Park.
  • Blue Iguana Safari Meet Grand Cayman’s “Blue Dragons” behind the scenes at the breeding facility at the Botanic Park. During this tour your guide will introduce you to some of the programme’s star breeders and explain how the Blue Iguana Recovery Programme was able to bring this endangered species back from the brink of extinction.
  • Camana Bay is a great option with two fountains to play in, the observation tower to climb and a harbour and landscaped courtyards to explore. See the Camana Bay section for more information.
  • Cayman Turtle Centre offers the opportunity to meet and learn about some of the most majestic and ancient animals in the world. At the Cayman Turtle Centre you can interact with turtles and marine life, meet Smiley the crocodile, feed exotic birds, enjoy a day in the snorkelling pool and ride the Turtle Twister waterslide. A free shuttle from Seven Mile Beach is available.
  • At the Crystal Caves families will enjoy an underground adventure into a fascinating world. You will be guided through amazing caves where you will see stalactite and stalagmite crystal structures, before exploring the surrounding tropical forest under which the caves are formed. A café and gift shop are also on-site.
  • Take a Helicopter Ride with Cayman Islands Helicopters and get an awesome view of SMB, Stingray City and remote areas of Cayman.

  • Splash around at Starfish Cay Water Park located at The Ritz-Carlton. Kids will love the water slides and fountains. Purchase a pass for a day of fun!
  • Go Horseback Riding along the beach or even in the water or in the water for a unique experience with Spirit of the West or Coral Stone Stables. No previous experience required.
  • Mangrove Forest Tours are fascinating and a great way to learn about Cayman’s delicate mangrove ecosystems. Suitable for all ages.Cayman Kayaks offers day and moon-lit kayak, boat and snorkel tours.
  • Become an Ambassador of the Environment with an educational eco-tour for families. Activities include gardening, cooking, shipwreck snorkelling and mangrove explorations. Held at The Ritz-Carlton.
