It is well worth a trip to George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands. It is the financial hub of the Cayman Islands and where the government conducts its business.

The shopping in George Town is first-class with the streets Harbour Drive and Cardinall Avenue lined with high–end jewellery stores, boutique watch retailers, and cosmetics stores. However, if you want to avoid the crowds then visit on a Friday or Saturday as most of the cruise ship passengers visit on Monday to Thursday. There is lots to do here and unlike most capital cities, it is surrounded by crystal clear waters, making for interesting snorkelling and swimming.

The National Museum. It was built in the 1830s and is a remarkably sophisticated museum with interactive displays that provide a great introduction to Cayman's heritage.

The National Museum holds two permanent exhibition galleries, three changing galleries and an audiovisual theatre. Explore Cayman’s unique habitats, take a virtual submarine dive down to Cayman’s famous wall, view a turtle nesting site, see the wetlands, learn about Cayman’s varied animal life and interact with the 3D bathymetric map of the ocean floor and Cayman’s location in the Caribbean. The Museum is great for both adults and children.

See the famous stingrays, spot fishing  boats, pass by lavish mansions hidden from view and take unforgettable photos from the helicopter.
