Paddleboarding, or SUP as it is sometimes known, is gaining popularity on Grand Cayman and is a pleasantly tranquil way to explore the coast line, while giving your core muscles a good workout. Easy to learn, you should be up and going within minutes. Those looking for more of a challenge can try surfing small waves or take part in races.
Paddleboards can be rented island-wide from Cayman Stand Up Paddle Co who will deliver them to you wherever you are and for as many days as you need it. Other places where a paddleboard can be rented for an hour or two on Seven Mile Beach include The Marriott (Red Sail Sports), Grand Cayman Beach Suites (Red Sail Sports), The Westin (Red Sail Sports), Surfside Beach and Waterman (located in Galleria Plaza). White Sand Water Sports, located at the Reef Resort in the East End also offer SUP rentals and they deliver Island-wide. In the district of North Side, a company based at Kaibo restaurant called Go to The Sweet Spot also rents paddleboards and offers lessons and guided tours.
Custom paddleboard tours can be organised through Cayman Stand Up Paddle Co where you can discover Cayman's varied coastline, from its beaches to mangroves. You will travel through canals, past beautiful houses and even paddle at night using Noqua illumination. CSUPco also run full moon paddles where you will travel along Seven Mile Beach as the full moon rises, stop for a quick refreshment at a beach bar and then carry on - a truly memorable Cayman experience. White Sand Water Sports located at The Reef Resort in East End also offers guided and custom paddleboard tours.
