After Dark Activities

The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down in Cayman. After dark there are plenty of things to keep you busy, whether it’s sampling one of the many excellent restaurants, dancing the night away or engaging in something more active such as night diving or kayaking. Some suggestions for things to do after dark include:


  • Art Classes Book in for an art class in canvas painting, ceramics or glazing at any of the multiple creative studios across the Island - they often involve a tipple or two as well! 3 Girls & a Kiln and Art Nest are two popular choices.
  • Cooking Classes The National Trust (345) 749 1121 and Bon Vivant (345) 623 2665 offer lively cooking classes
  • Open Canvas Every Wednesday night artists are welcome to paint on canvas at KARoo with a special guest host each week. 7pm-9pm. (345) 946 6633.
  • Salsa Dancing On Tuesdays The Wharf offers a free Salsa lesson from 9.30pm-10pm. You can then continue Salsa dancing to a live DJ until 12.45am. (345) 949 2231.
  • Tenpin Bowling At King’s Sport Centre (345) 946 2695. Call or visit their website for operating hours and rates.
  • Trivia Show off your random knowledge and win prizes at the Lone Star’s Trivia Night. Every Tuesday, 8pm-10pm. (345) 945 5175.
  • Wine Tasting West Indies Wine Company regularly hosts wine tasting events led by a sommelier. (345) 640 9492


  • Cinema Movie goers have various options: The cinema at Camana Bay (345) 640 3456 has a six screen multiplex which shows all the latest releases.In Camana Bay during the summer months, you can catch a family movie on the lawn under the stars on Tuesday evenings at 7pm. The Ritz–Carlton also shows family friendly outdoor movies every evening -  order a pizza while you relax together and enjoy the evening under the stars.
  • Live Music Cayman has lots of places where you can find a wide range of live music. Check out our weekly listings for live music in Cayman.
  • Cocktail Masterclass Book a cocktail masterclass at Union Grill, learn how to make the best tipples from their master mixologist and taste your creations!
  • After Dinner Wind down the evening with a drink at any of the following places: Abacus, Anchor & Den, bàraco, Kaibo, KARoo, Macabuca, The Bird, or West Indies Wine Co. Bars stay open late on Friday but they close at midnight on Saturday.
  • ‘Open Mic’ Nights Sit back and enjoy the local artists or even get up yourself! Wednesdays at Lone Star. (345) 945 5175.
  • Late Bars & Nightclubs Popular bars and clubs in Cayman are O Bar (345) 943 6227 and The Lodge (345) 323 1669, where you can party ‘til 3am.
  • Full Moon Kaibo holds a monthly Luna del Mar event every Friday nearest the full moon on the beach with a 3-course sharing feast, DJ and lanterns. Sea Elements offers a full moon kayak tour and Spirit of the West offers full moon horse riding.
  • Tarpon Feeding Be enthralled by the lively splashes of tarpon as they lurk at the edge of George Town’s waterfront. Every evening at 7pm and 9pm there’s tarpon feeding at The Wharf restaurant.

Please Note: Due to the strong Christian tradition and licensing laws bars close at 1am from Monday to Friday (some have extensions until 2am on Friday nights) and midnight on Saturday and Sunday. Nightclubs close at 3am during the week and midnight at Saturdays. Some bars and restaurants close for the summer period and so events may be postponed for a while.
