This exciting sport is gaining popularity in the Cayman Islands. With steady winds, warm water, sheltered lagoons and good waves at the reef break, Grand Cayman has ideal conditions for those wanting to learn or practice kiteboarding.
The best season for kiteboarding is November-July when the winds are stronger. There are several kitesurf operations offering instruction from various locations including Barkers Beach in West Bay, Kaibo in North Side and boat based lessons in East End. Some of these also offer “surfaris” for the more experienced kitesurfer.
Kitesurf Cayman, located in Barkers (northeast corner of West Bay), offers private instruction.
Located on sun-drenched Barkers Beach, they offer world-class conditions for beginners to master this sport with confidence. Warm flat waters, expansive open space, and a waist deep teaching area offers first-timers the perfect learning environment. Experienced IKO instructors will help guide you in a fun and easy way. Kitesurf Cayman’s introductory lesson will help you decide if kitesurfing is the sport for you!
