Shopping in George Town

Downtown George Town is where you will find most of the high end jewellery shops as well as a few interesting and unique stores where you can find gifts to take home with you. George Town is quietest on non-cruise ship days (Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays). All downtown shops are closed on Sundays.

Souvenirs, Art Galleries & Locally Made Collectables

  • The Craft Market located on the waterfront (next to Dairy Queen), is a great place to watch local artisans at work and to pick up a unique gift or even a collector’s item. Choose from one of a kind woodcarvings and paintings, handmade products such as conch and caymanite, plus local jellies, jams, pickles and snacks. You can even have your hair braided! Open on days when cruise ships are in port.
  • Artifacts is a treasure trove of antique jewellery, maps, prints, china, shipwreck treasures and more. It's the perfect place to pick up a unique gift.

Each of these companies offers a wide range of diamonds and other gemstones, as well as top-of-the-line jewellery. With duty free and tax free prices, buying jewellery and watches in Cayman is a smart move.

You can also check out the boutique, family-owned jewellery store, Rocky's Diamond Gallery, which specialises in high-end jewellery. They offer an extensive collection of gemstones that are perfect for life's big events. You can even have a piece of jewellery custom designed and made by their in-house jewellery designers. If you're on the hunt for something with a little more history, head to Artifacts on Harbour Drive and view their extensive collection of beautiful antique items.
