Tight Lines!

Fishing is a year round sport in the Cayman Islands with the choice of reef and deep sea fishing. With a plentiful supply of fish, experienced fishers and novices alike will return to shore happy with their catch!

Casting Your Line

The Islands' inner and outer banks teem with an abundance of marine life, promising an exhilarating experience for both seasoned anglers and novice enthusiasts. Fishing charters in the Cayman Islands offer an unparalleled opportunity for real adventure on the high seas, as you troll across the Caribbean Sea looking for gamefish.

Closer to shore, the Cayman Islands' coral reefs and mangrove forests provide a haven for a variety of marine life, including barracuda and snapper.

With numerous fishing charter options available, selecting the right one for your experience and preferences is crucial for an unforgettable adventure.

Reef or Deep Sea Fishing

The tour operators listed below offer excellent fishing charters.

Cayman Islands Sailing Charters, Cayman Luxury Charters and Y-Knot offer reef fishing trips. For deep sea fishing trips contact Cayman Islands Sailing Charters and Y-Knot.

On a reef fishing trip you can expect to catch Groupers, Snapper, and Jack Crevalle. On a deep sea fishing trip you will likely catch Blue and White Marlin, Blackfin and Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi.

Charter captains are knowledgeable and experienced, they know where the fish are on a seasonable basis, ensuring a safety-conscious and enjoyable fishing experience.

Majestic Blue Marlin

Guy Harvey gaffs a blue marlin caught out of competition by a young angler at Grand Cayman's 12-mile bank. This fish was estimated to be well over 300lbs.

Cayman Islands Sailing Charters provides personalised and private sailing charters. Their 37’ Prout Catamaran, 'Be Happy,' is skippered by a U.S. Coast Guard Captain and offers reef and deep sea fishing trips. They offer full-day and half-day packages for up to 20 people.

Cayman Luxury Charters provides a customisable and luxurious water experience with three boats equipped for family fun. Reef fishing stops can be incorporated into itineraries along with stops at Stingray City and Starfish Point.

Returning empty handed?

If fishing for your supper wasn't successful, (unlikely!) You can purchase the fresh catch of local fishermen on the waterfront in Georgetown, opposite Mary Street.

Y-Knot Private Charters offer customisable half and full-day adventures in the Cayman Islands, providing a private and luxurious experience. They offer both reef and deep sea fishing charters. Prepare to catch a broad range of fish, such as wahoo, mahi-mahi, marlin, tuna, barracuda and many other species of bottom fish. Y-Knot offers a variety of fishing techniques, including trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing and electric deep dropping, to suit all preferences, from the experienced to the novice angler.

Where are the fish?

Don't forget it's called fishing not catching! But don't worry, all the charter captains know seasonally where the fish are most likely to be. For die-hard deep sea fishermen, most boat charters provide trips to 60 Mile Bank, but this necessitates a minimum 14-hour charter. The more accessible 12 Mile Bank, however, offers a nearly guaranteed successful fishing experience where you can catch large Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and Marlin.
