You’ll find great shopping in the Seven Mile Beach area, from clothing, art and jewellery to locally produced goods such as soap products, Cayman Sea Salt, rum cakes, jams, hot sauces, sculptures and more. If you are looking for a gift to take home you won’t be disappointed.
Local items can be found at the Farmers & Artisans Market at Camana Bay, also check out the 3 Girls & a Kiln store for locally made ceramics and the gift shop in the Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa.
Art galleries on Grand Cayman are generally extremely good at carrying the work of local artists and craftsmen, whether original paintings, Caymanite jewellery or hand–woven thatch products. The quality is superb and such works have become highly collectable.
The Kennedy Gallery in the West Shore Centre (Pink Plaza) sells original paintings and prints by talented local artists. (345) 949 8077. The Ritz-Carlton displays local artist’s work on the walkway between the two properties and The National Gallery has a lovely gift shop where you can purchase prints and locally made goods.
Cayman is a great place to buy jewellery and watches. It can be 50% cheaper than in Europe or the US since watches, gems and precious metals are all duty–free. Kirk Freeport has a branch at the Strand Shopping Centre and at the Westin Beach Resort. Camana Bay has Island Jewellers. Jewels in Paradise is located in the Cayman Falls plaza and there is a beautiful jewellery store in Governors Square called Balaclava Jewellers.
If you are looking for a new bathing costume, a light and casual outfit to keep the heat at bay or a new look for the evening, then here are a few great options:
Divers Supply in West Shore Centre is open seven days a week and sells well known scuba brands including Aqualung, Atomic, Mares, Oceanic, Scuba Pro and Sherwood. They also sell swimwear and you can rent dive and snorkel equipment from them.
Stock up on supplies from Foster’s supermarket in Camana Bay. You’ll find everything you’d expect to find in an American or British supermarket plus deli treats, cheeses and organic goods.
There are liquor stores in most shopping plazas along Seven Mile Beach. Most shut at 7pm except Jacques Scott ,Blackbeards and Tortuga Fine Wines and Spirits, which are open until 10pm. All are closed on Sundays except for West Indies Wine Company in Camana Bay. Jacques Scott, Blackbeards and Vino Veritas (345) 526 8466, which is a boutique wine specialist, will also deliver alcohol to your home or condo, so why not place your order before you arrive!
The grocery store, Foster's in Camana Bay sells, a wide variety of general brand bath and beauty supplies. Alternatively, Da Vinci Centre and Eclipze Hair Design carry well–known hair and skin products.
