Christmas is a magical time of year in the Cayman Islands. We may not get snow but you’ll find plenty of traditional and festive activities to keep the whole family entertained throughout the holidays and to top it all off, you can enjoy plenty of Christmas cheer without having to suffer the cold weather!

This is one of Cayman’s biggest and best events! Camana Bay is transformed into a sparkling wonderland with a majestic Christmas tree, inspiring musical performances by The Cayman National Choir, a Christmas craft market and a special visit from Santa Claus. Join in the countdown to the switching on of the lights of Camana Bay’s 40ft Christmas tree! This event does get quite busy and we recommend booking a table at one of the nearby restaurants (Brooklyn Pizza + Pasta, Mizu or The Waterfront) or bars (Karoo or The King's Head) for a great vantage point. A charming event suitable for the young and old. 15th November 2020. Tree will be lit at 6.45pm/7pm.
Join the ladies for their annual charity fundraiser where you can experience delicious homemade tea, distinctive handmade crafts, a white elephant sale, a silent auction and special performances. Held at the Arts & Recreation Centre, Camana Bay. 2020 Date TBC.
Camana Bay's Parade of Lights is a wonderful Cayman tradition. Thousands watch as beautifully lit up boats of every shape and size sail into the harbour in Camana Bay all competing for the prize of the most magical boat. Wander around the Christmas market, enjoy live music and carols and watch the fantastic firework display that wraps up the night! 6th December 2020.
Burn off those Christmas calories, along with hundreds of other runners, at this annual 5k and 10k Jingle Bell Run. A delicious breakfast is served after the run and spot prizes awarded. Proceeds are donated to the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre. CI$25. 2020 Date TBC.

Holiday Farmers & Artisans Farmers Market, Camana Bay - Every Wednesday throughout December, Camana Bay’s weekly market will be infused with Christmas cheer.
Visual Arts Society Christmas Craft Market - In case you haven’t started, enjoy this market to browse handmade art, jewellery, crafts, ornaments and more for the perfect Christmas gift with a local touch. Saturday, 14 December 2019, 10am-5pm, the Paseo, Camana Bay.
Children in Cayman are lucky enough to have two weekly visits from Santa in Camana Bay. On Thursdays (5pm-7pm) throughout December little ones can have their photos with Traditional Santa and on Saturdays (3pm-5pm) Santa goes Island-style with his tropical shirt and shorts.
Don’t miss the Kimpton’s life-sized gingerbread bar + house crafted from 800lbs of spiced cookie dough, 350lbs of icing, and 100lbs of candy. The bar stands 12 feet tall and 15 feet long and offers festive signature cocktails for a sweeter way to toast the season. Opens December 2020.
When the joy of Christmas meets a child’s tea party, magical things can happen. Decorate your own Gingerbread Man and indulge in finger sandwiches and a tower of delectable sweets. The Ritz-Carlton. 2020 Date TBC.
Don’t miss a Christmas knees-up at Kaibo’s Luna del Mar with DJ Eden playing under the full moon. Enjoy an incredible 3-course sharing feast served under the stars, followed by dancing on the sand. Invite your friends and make memories that last.2020 Date TBC.
Decorating private homes with thousands of twinkling lights and creating beautiful Christmas scenes is a source of immense pride in Cayman! Take an evening drive around the Island (it gets dark around 6pm) and you will see stunning nativity scenes, plus Santa, snowmen, reindeers and a whole lot more! Top homes to check out include the Crighton family home, 389 South Sound Road, across from Sunset House and the Bodden sisters’ home at 705 South Sound Road, across from Smith Cove. Some homes will even leave their gates open so you can wander around and marvel at the magical, seasonal displays.
National Trust Christmas Lights Bus Tour
Join the National Trust for their Christmas Bus Tour! The tour includes visits to modern and traditional homes decked out in Christmas decor for the holiday season, singing of Christmas carols and a true Cayman Christmas experience. Limited spaces.2020 Date TBC.

Families can enjoy a classic Christmas movie shown on a giant screen on the Crescent in Camana Bay. Saturday 17th December 2019.
Get creative at the Ritz-Carlton’s annual Gingerbread House Workshop. Led by their pastry chef, children and adults gather to build a classic gingerbread house complete with icing, gumdrops, and more edible decorations. Great festive fun for the whole family! 2020 Date TBC.

If you love over-indulging on Christmas Day then you will not be disappointed in Cayman! From sumptuous brunches, traditional turkey lunches, sushi and Australian fare, you will be spoiled for choice on Christmas Day. Most restaurants offer bottomless champagne or sparkling wine too! One of the biggest nights of the year in Cayman! Those looking to ring in the new year will find a huge range of party options from beach parties and black tie events to live music and gourmet dinners. Alternatively get a bunch of friends together and decamp to Seven Mile Beach to watch the magnificent fireworks displays at midnight!
