Christmas is a magical time of year in the Cayman Islands. We may not get snow but you’ll find plenty of traditional and festive activities to keep the whole family entertained throughout the holidays and to top it all off, you can enjoy plenty of Christmas cheer without having to suffer the cold weather!
While COVID-19 restrictions have meant some annual events have been cancelled, there is still plenty of Christmas fun to be had in the Cayman Islands!

Delight in tradition and indulge in the magic of Christmas at the Westin Wonderland. There will be pop up shops, selfies with Santa, Christmas tree lighting, carol singing and an open air screening of the 1994 Christmas classic: "The Santa Clause". Tortuga Beach Grill and Bar will be open throughout the evening for dining and drinks, don't forget to try their festive cocktails! 5pm-8.30pm, Thursday 26th November, 2020.
This is one of Cayman’s biggest and best events! Camana Bay is transformed into a sparkling wonderland with a majestic Christmas tree, inspiring musical performances by The Cayman National Choir, a Christmas craft market and a special visit from Santa Claus. Join in the countdown to the switching on of the lights of Camana Bay’s 40ft Christmas tree! This event does get quite busy and we recommend booking a table at one of the nearby restaurants for a great vantage point. A charming event suitable for the young and old. Sadly due to Covid-19 restrictions this event will not be going ahead in 2020, however, from the weekend of 28th November, the Town Centre will be beautifully lit and fully decorated, and all are encouraged to make their dinner reservations for Saturday, 28 November and onwards to enjoy the merry and magical ambience of twinkling lights surrounding alfresco dining.
Spend the evening at Pedro St James enjoying a celebration of Christmas under the stars. Don't miss the tree lighting, carol singing, Santa visit, delicious food and drink, the Christmas market and raffle prizes. Free entry. 6pm-9pm, Sunday 6th December 2020.
Camana Bay's Parade of Lights is a wonderful Cayman tradition. Thousands watch as beautifully lit up boats of every shape and size sail into the harbour in Camana Bay all competing for the prize of the most magical boat. Wander around the Christmas market, enjoy live music and carols and watch the fantastic firework display that wraps up the night! Sadly, due to Covid-19 restrictions, this event will not be going ahead in 2020.
Get your Christmas shopping done and support local artisans.
Girlguiding Annual Christmas Arts and Craft Bazaar Shop local for all of your Holiday needs! Browse arts, crafts, handmade jewellery, henna tattoos and so much more. All proceeds go to Girlguiding Cayman Islands. Bazaar will be held in Loyola Hall and Courtyard, St. Ignatius Catholic School, Walkers Road. Free Admission. 10am-2pm, Saturday 28th November 2020.
Experience Cayman LIVE An evening of fun, food, shopping and festive cheer on Cardinall Avenue. Get a head start on Christmas shopping with stalls from over 30 vendors. 4pm-11pm, Saturday 5th December.
Miracle on Market Street A festive shopping event for all in Camana Bay. With hot cocoa and an eggnog bar, crafts and an igloo photobooth, Christmas cookies and a DJ playing Christmas tunes, there will be plenty of Christmas spirit to go around. Enjoy live carolling and get those gifts wrapped for a donation to a charitable cause. 5pm-8pm, Thursday 3rd December 2020.
Pink Ladies Annual Christmas Bazaar Join the Pink Ladies for their annual charity fundraiser where you can experience delicious homemade tea, distinctive handmade crafts, a white elephant sale, a silent auction and special performances. Held in Gardenia Court, Camana Bay. 3pm-5pm, Saturday 5th December 2020.
Visual Arts Society Christmas Craft Market In case you haven’t started, enjoy this market to browse handmade art, jewellery, crafts, ornaments and more for the perfect Christmas gift with a local touch. 10am-5pm, Saturday 12th December 2020.
Christmas Night Market Celebrate the Christmas season at Anchor & Den’s fabulous festive themed event. Enjoy a unique foodie and shopping experience which includes lives music, delicious holiday-themed street food, handcrafted cocktails and cool retail stalls full of seasonal goods. Free entry but food and drinks tickets can be purchased using tickets on the night. Friday 18th December, 2020.
Holiday Farmers & Artisans Farmers Market, Camana Bay Every Wednesday throughout December 2020, Camana Bay’s weekly market will be infused with Christmas cheer.
There is nothing more festive then belting out Christmas carols and in Cayman there are two major events to help get you into the Christmas spirit!
The Elmsie Church hosts an annual Christmas Carol Concert. Sing along with the Cayman National Choir to all your Christmas favourites! Tuesday 8th December and Thursday 10th December 2020.
The Singing Christmas Tree is a spectacular event which highlights the story of Jesus’ birth depicted through a 25 foot Christmas tree encased with over 5,000 lights and 60 local and international performers. The 90 minute show is accompanied by a superb orchestra. Sadly, due to COVID-19 related factors, the Singing Christmas Tree event will not take place in 2020.
Santa Run Stay fit and give back this season by registering for the Santa Run, a jolly jog for a cause. With a two-mile loop starting and ending on the Camana Bay Crescent, the Santa Run is perfect for runners of all ages and abilities, and festive outfits are encouraged. Funds raised will benefit the Cayman Food Bank via the Camana Bay Christmas Give. Saturday 12th December.
Jingle Bell Run Burn off those Christmas calories, along with hundreds of other runners, at this annual 5k and 10k Jingle Bell Run. A delicious breakfast is served after the run and spot prizes awarded. Proceeds are donated to the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre. CI$25. Sunday 13th December 2020.
Santa Landing Join the Kiwanis Club for a family fun day at the Airport Park. Every child can meet Santa (he is landing at 2pm!) and enjoy the gift of a new book. Refreshments and entertainment will be available. Admission in completely free. 1pm-4pm, Saturday 5th December 2020.
Photos with Santa Children in Cayman are lucky enough to have three weekly visits from Santa in Camana Bay. Every Saturday afternoon at 3pm-5pm from Saturday 5th December to Saturday 19th December 2020, little ones can have their photo taken with Santa Claus for free.
Decorating private homes with thousands of twinkling lights and creating beautiful Christmas scenes is a source of immense pride in Cayman! Take an evening drive around the Island (it gets dark around 6pm) and you will see stunning nativity scenes, plus Santa, snowmen, reindeers and a whole lot more! Top homes to check out include the Crighton family home, 389 South Sound Road, across from Sunset House and the Bodden sisters’ home at 705 South Sound Road, across from Smith Cove. Some homes will even leave their gates open so you can wander around and marvel at the magical, seasonal displays.
Get creative at the Ritz-Carlton’s annual Gingerbread House Workshop. Bring your creativity and use powdered sugar, peppermints, and candy canes to craft the perfect gingerbread house, working together as a family to create a masterpiece that you can bring home with you. Join the National Trust for their Christmas Bus Tour! The tour includes visits to modern and traditional homes decked out in Christmas decor for the holiday season, singing of Christmas carols and a true Cayman Christmas experience. Limited spaces. 2020 Date TBC.

Catch a special screening of The Royal Ballet's glorious production of The Nutcracker at the Caman Bay Cinema. Tchaikovsky's glittering score, the gorgeous festive stage designs, and The Royal Ballet's captivating dancing including an exquisite pas de deux between the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Prince, make this Nutcracker the quintessential Christmas experience. 'Twas the night before Christmas...and everyone gathered beside the ocean to enjoy a magical Christmas village, where they nibbled on holiday treats, discovered local artists, sampled their way around scrumptious food stations, delighted in the entertainers, sang along with the carolers, soaked in the live music and left, completely and utterly excited for Christmas Day. Take in two Moonlight & Movies screenings on the Crescent on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd December 2020 at 7pm. Enjoy dinner to go from one of the Camana Bay restaurants and spot giveaways of a picnic blanket or wine bottle holder each evening.

If you love over-indulging on Christmas Day then you will not be disappointed in Cayman! From sumptuous brunches, traditional turkey lunches, sushi and Australian fare, you will be spoiled for choice on Christmas Day. Most restaurants offer bottomless champagne or sparkling wine too! But book early as restaurants do fill up quickly! Keep an eye on the event calendar as Christmas brunches are added.
One of the biggest nights of the year in Cayman! Those looking to ring in the new year will find a huge range of party options from beach parties and black tie events to live music and gourmet dinners. Alternatively get a bunch of friends together and decamp to Seven Mile Beach to watch the magnificent fireworks displays at midnight!
