A celebration of all thing’s coconut, Pedro St. James, and the Tourism Attraction Board (TAB) are looking forward hosting its seventh annual Coco Fest on Saturday 26th February albeit a smaller version of the popular event.
Coco Fest was created as a way to celebrate the Cayman coconut and to preserve its ties to Caymanian culture and heritage. The festival, which began in 2016, highlights local cottage industry businesses and is about remembering a time when the coconut industry was vital in Cayman. Coco Fest also supports the Shop Local ethos by creating a space for small businesses to showcase and sell their art work, traditional foods and products made from coconut oil or some part of the coconut plant.
Visitors can look forward to an array of locally cooked foods, candies, produce, games, and beauty products. There will also be an arts and crafts corner hosted by the Visual Arts Society. Cayman Spirits Company have once again also partnered with Coco Fest in which sales of its specialty coconut rum drink will benefit the National Historic Site. Live entertainment will include One World Entertainment, Little Magic and Pan n’ Riddim steel band.
If ya love coconut, then Coco Fest is the place to be!
